15th April 2013 Daily Affirmations ♥

April 15, 2013

15th April 2013 copy

The past few months have been rather hectic. One thing I haven’t had is time. Things changed so rapidly that I didn’t know what to do and at what time. With a day that starts at 5am until 7pm, I haven’t quite been sure how to handle anything. One thing that suffered was my daily affirmations. It’s been knowing at me. At times I’ve asked myself what it will take to start writing again.

I didn’t stop writing only because I didn’t have the time. I didn’t write for many reasons. Some of which are rather hard to explain. I have needed the rest. I have needed a break. I have always been one of those people who take on too much; because I always felt that I had to. I felt it was my responsibility to be responsibility to be responsible for everything and for everyone, and that can becomes a burden.

In the past few months, I have learned how to rest. I love to write. I am called to do just that, but I had to understand that God wanted me to be free to do it and that it wasn’t an obligation. We have to learn how to do things with JOY. God loves a joyful giver. I had to start being honest, writing was becoming hard for me because I was going through so much that all I needed was for God to focus on me and not for me to focus on everybody else. To many that may even sound selfish, but it is impossible to help someone else heal when you are broken.

I am in a much better space, and so thankful that I am willing to accept where I am. I am also just so glad to be back in writing mode. I won’t be writing every day, but I will be writing. I won’t be a stranger to what I love, now that I have discovered that God is not expecting me to do it, he is happy that I do it, without feeling like I have to. This is what serving is all about; serving joyfully. This season, I just want to give joyfully. My affirmation today is I will serve joyfully. I will continue to do what I was called to do, this time knowing that God desires joy to be a part of it. I love you and I am so glad to be back. I won’t be here everyday, but you also have the opportunity to share with me how you affirm yourself on a daily basis by getting on my Facebook page and don’t forget to follow on Twitter @TheAffirmations.

20th February 2013 Daily Affirmation ♥

March 5, 2013

20th Feb 2013 copyEvery season of our lives is different. Some seasons are harder than others, some are so smooth sailing that we often feel like we’re flying. That’s what I feel the scripture in Isaiah that says…”but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint”.

When we keep walking through storms, we increase our faith…we walk and not faint. When we make the decision that nothing is going to stop us, we increase our faith. Moving on and moving forward is an act of faith. We walk in faith towards our hope. We have to often walk right through the mess, walk right through the pain, and regardless of how painful or difficult it seems like, we have to keep walking. My affirmation today is just about walking through everything, regardless of what it is…”I will keep moving”. Keep on moving and don’t stop for challenges, things, people and anything that gets in the way of your faith. Enjoy Your Beautiful Day.

19th February 2013 Daily Affirmation ♥

March 5, 2013

19th Feb 2013 copyWhen blessings come our way, we often have to be careful about how we respond to our blessings. There are times we act like we deserve what we’re receiving from God and fail to be thankful. Thankfulness allows us to become humble, and also to know how much we really depend on God.

I had a chat with someone last week who gave me such awesome advice…”use your blessings to empower, use what God gives you to become more compassionate”. Pride always gets in the way of our growth, it makes us feel deserving, when in honest truth, God does everything for us out of his live for us, not our love for him. So my affirmation today is “I will keep grounded”. Being grounded helps us see things from God’s perspective, that all blessings are from him and it’s because of his mercy that we are able to enjoy peace. Enjoy Your Beautiful Day.

18th February 2013 Daily Affirmation ♥

March 5, 2013

18th Feb 2013 copyYesterday I was thinking about how for the past year it’s been so amazing for me to wake up every morning to listen and then write my blogs. It’s something that I have upheld and I totally value. But there has been times when I have felt like I owe God my affirmations, and only until recently I’ve been able to deal with it.

Most of do things “for” God at times because we fear that if we don’t do them he is going to hold us accountable for not making him happy or whatever the reason may be. We live according to our works and not according to our faith. Does God depend on us to bless us? God depends on our faith and not on our works.

My affirmation today is “I won’t depend on works“. That’s because it takes more than what we do to touch God, it takes faith which then moves me to act. Enjoy Your Beautiful Day.

***Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

17th February 2013 Daily Affirmation ♥

February 25, 2013

17th Feb 2013 copyDo you ever get that feeling around people, where you feel you can’t really say all that you’d like to say, or where you can’t really be free to express yourself in a certain way? We somehow have something in us that becomes cautious around others. With God it’s the total opposite, we can be just who we want to be and not be afraid of judgment. We don’t have to worry what God thinks about us because we already know how he feels about us.

There are never any questions…we don’t have to ask ourselves if God really cares, or if he understands us. We know that we can be totally open, we can express ourselves the way we want, we can talk to him about anything, and simply just be yourself. One of the best things about having a relationship with God, is that it is a living relationship. It is one where we can come to God with anything and he will get it before we open our mouths.

I used to be so conscious of “how I was praying”…whether I was on my knees or standing..i found it hard to pray while lying down. I wanted to feel like I was doing it right…but there’s nothing like that as far as God is concerned, he I hearing my heart as I pray. My affirmation today is “I can be myself around God”. I can be open and carefree…that’s all we want. Enjoy Your Beautiful Day.

16th February 2013 Daily Affirmation ♥

February 25, 2013

16th Feb 2013 copyYesterday’s post was pretty much about the desire to spend time in the presence of God. One thing I know is that God has a desire for us to be in his presence. God wants communion with us, he wants us to spend time with him. He sent his son to us so that we could have communion with him, so that we could be in his presence. God came for us, to be with us.

Desiring to spend time with God is something we need to continually talk to God about. Every time we say “God I desire you”, we call upon God to be with us in all areas. I believe that touches God. My affirmation today is “God I desire you”. I desire your presence, I desire your hand upon my life, I desire your love…I desire everything about you. I know God wants to hear that from us. Enjoy Your Beautiful Day.

***143:8 May I hear about your loyal love in the morning, for I trust in you. Show me the way I should go, because I long for you.

15th February 2013 Daily Affirmation ♥

February 25, 2013

15th Feb 2013 copyThere are times when we have this feeling like we’re not too close to God. Almost as if you can’t hear what he’s saying and you don’t have that inclination towards the Holy Spirit like you’re used to. I understand that its in those moments when we have to study the word more, pray more, spend more time in the presence of God.

Someone once told me that there’s no way I can expect to have a close relationship with God unless I spend as much time as I can with him. To build a desire for God, as much as I would want to spend time with someone who I am in a relationship with. When we love someone, we want to spend all our time with them. We love their presence, even when they’re not saying much to us. Just the fact that we’re in the same room makes all the difference. That’s pretty much the same with God. The more time we spend in his presence the close we are to him. It becomes enjoyable.

My affirmation today is “I will practice the presence ”. I generally have times I spend with God, and I believe that if I utilize those moments to be in the presence rather than talking at God and not just “being”, then I will start to see radical change in my life because he will affect my entire being. In many ways I believe God will start to rub off on me. I want the presence of God and I hope you feel the same. Enjoy Your Beautiful Day.
